ecopy programs require that the Visual Basic 6 runtime files are installed on your computer.

The runtime files are not included in the ecopy backup or ecopy encryption installer (due to problems with some older versions of windows).

If the runtime files are not installed on your computyer, ecopy backup will not start. Note Windows 2000 and later included the runtime files.
